Identification For Your Tradeshow Event Planning

Preparing your event can be quite stressful. There is much to consider. Since events often include a great deal of networking, one of the most important decisions is your identification.
You should first consider what your identification needs truly are. If you will be supplying a great deal of literature, brochures, or including an agenda, you may want to consider using a trade show holder. These holders are typically made from fabric and a bit larger than the traditional badge holder. They also have multiple pockets which provide the event goer with a convenient place to store the materials they receive. If your event is more about making contacts, you may opt for a traditional badge holder which really features the person’s name which will help facilitate easy connecting of peers and/or business contacts.
Once you’ve decided on your type of identification, use your favorite search engine to shop around for your needs. Be sure to consider transit times when ordering and that the product is or will be in stock prior to your event date. Another good idea is to ship your holders to your hotel rather than to a convention center or other meeting venue. This will eliminate any time spent trying to locate the holders once you arrive at the venue. This also lessens your load for travel.
After receiving your product, be sure to open the box(es) as soon as possible to ensure the quantity is correct. Address any shortages or otherwise with your supplier right away so the issue may be corrected accordingly. Print your inserts for the badges in addition to any literature handouts in advance. Printing from a template can sometimes be a bit time consuming in order to get the alignment correct. Also, order a few extra sheets of inserts for testing purposes. If possible, assemble your badges/ packets prior to the event for ease of distribution.
Through proper planning, you will ensure a successful event and decrease the amount of stress during an already stressful time.
