Common Problems to Marketing Success – Part 2 – Lack of Action

Underperformance is frequently tied to a lack of action in the marketing arena. Individuals have to be made aware that their owned areas are the problem with not meeting with success in business marketing. These individuals are crippled by their misperception of mistakes that keep them always studying and never implementing. For years I have observed many young business entrepreneurs who have failed to build their business due to a lack of effective marketing action.
It is essential for them to recognize the mistakes that are being made, as identifying the marketing problem, is the first step in meeting with success. The individual or someone working with him/her must have the skills and understanding to identify the root causes of below target marketing performance.
The second step in meeting with success is to rectify the problem(s) by focusing on the specific mistakes and take action to implement the corrected marketing strategies. To make a true impact, action must be focused on the right problems, those that are directly related to marketing strategy.
The final step is follow-through. Well planned follow-through is essential in making sure the root causes of below target performance are eliminated. No follow-up no success!
Whether the marketing is direct response (mail based) or internet based, the three steps are the same. Identify, rectify and follow through with the problem area(s) that are impacting marketing performance. When the steps are taken and marketing strategies are effectively deployed, success for these individuals will be enhanced.
