Direct Marketing - 4 Comprehensive Ways to Excel at Marketing
May 26th, 2009 |
Direct marketing is undoubtedly one of the most valuable tools for small business owners. This is the type of marketing where sellers and potential clients interact directly with each other.
Here’s how you can excel at direct marketing:
1. Write a compelling sales pitch. Don’t leave your home unprepared. Before you go ahead and meet up with your potential clients, make sure that you have prepared and memorized your sales pitch. You need to know what to say when, how to address common objections, when to brag about your products features and benefits, etc.
2. Dress and look like a salesman. There is a reason why salespeople are dressed to the nines when they meet up with their prospects. You wouldn’t want to buy from someone who has got long hair and wears sandals and shorts, right? For salespeople, image could be everything to secure a sale.
3. Improve your communication skills. As a seller, you need to be a very good communicator in order to persuade your clients to buy. You must know the words and language to use to easily hit the emotional buttons of your prospects. You can improve your communication skills by simply practicing on a regular basis and by attending relevant trainings and seminars.
4. Features and benefits. One thing that you should never forget is to communicate the features and benefits that your products can offer. Tell your clients how your products can easily help them improve the quality of their lives or how they can help these people resolve their pressing issues to get them to buy in no time.
